SEAI home energy grants, explained
The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) pays grants toward upgrading your home’s energy efficiency. You can take individual grants yourself, or use a One-Stop-Shop for a whole-home retrofit with a single bigger grant.
| Measure | Indicative grant |
|---|---|
| Attic insulation | €1,500 |
| Cavity wall insulation | €1,700 |
| Internal wall insulation | €3,500 |
| External wall insulation | €8,000 |
| Heat pump system | €6,500 |
| Heating controls upgrade | €700 |
| Solar PV panels | €1,800 |
| Windows & doors (via One Stop Shop) | One Stop Shop only |
Indicative amounts for a detached house, as published by SEAI. Amounts are lower for apartments and mid-terrace homes, and the whole-home (One-Stop-Shop) route can combine into far larger totals. Eligibility and current values are confirmed on seai.ie.
Which grants apply to my home?
It depends on how your home is built and heated. Older homes with solid walls and oil heating tend to benefit most, and qualify for the most support. The quickest way to see your likely list is to run the free estimate.
